PHP – Patching up the Mess

March 22nd, 2009 | by Drew |

The world’s most used scripting language for web page development is constantly under attack from many threats that continue to wage war against the many security holes that have been left by developers and programmers the world over. Programmers and developers are being blamed for most of the many security holes that have since been addressed yet not applied to existing deployments/projects in terms of updating codes and other plug-ins and scripts. Many problems have indeed been addressed with the release of new and improved versions of the scripting language and the many tools that are now available for use.
Developers are very much ignorant of the wide and gaping security holes unadapted pages that leaves users to pay the price for their lack of foresight when the pages were made and when the updates were released. Many PHP experts advise developers and programmers to use tools and updates that are issued so security holes are addressed, preventing them from adding to the new ones that come out, evident of the evolution of the type of attacks and the drive to cope with the threats that do emerge.
